Con tanta pseudociencia, ¿por qué tan poca pseudotecnología?

Después de una revisión de los usos previos del término '' pseudotecnología '', se propone una definición: “Una pseudotecnología es una supuesta tecnología que es irreparablemente disfuncional para su propósito previsto, ya que se basa en principios de construcción que no se pueden realizar para trabajar”. Se discute la relación entre la pseudotecnología y la pseudociencia, y también la relación entre la pseudotecnología y el concepto mucho más débil de mal funcionamiento tecnológico. Se ofrece una explicación de por qué rara vez se hace referencia a la pseudotecnología que a la pseudociencia: la tecnología disfuncional suele descubrirse cuando se pone en práctica, mientras que la ciencia disfuncional tiende a ser más difícil a ser expuesta.
